Although my life and work has been primarily about music, I have always been intrigued by Art and Science, and after years of experimentation finally found a satisfying marriage of both through the chemistry of paint density, consistency and reactivity. I have explored this to create works, that to my eye, mirror the patterns and intricacies of the unseen in Nature. They remind me of both the strangeness of the quantum world, and the mega-structures of the cosmos. I like to believe that the extremes of the universe eventually come to resemble each other. I call these works my Galaxy Series.
Through my interest in portraying natural phenomena that cannot be seen by the naked eye, I have been greatly inspired by the work of Gerhard Richter. His style and technique of imposing and erasing structure has allowed me to also explore spontaneous patterns, colours, and textural effects. I call this series Industrial Impressionism. Thank you for your interest.
