Anna Cao is an artist whose heart lives in the colours and movement of the Gold Coast. Born with a natural pull toward creativity, she found her artistic voice in the expressive, fluid language of coastal landscapes.
Her paintings are not literal depictions of the ocean; they are emotional translations of how the coastline feels—bright, alive, peaceful, and full of motion. Her work explores the meeting point between strength and serenity. Rather than simply painting the sea, she hopes to capture what it represents: hope, courage, freedom, and the quiet resilience of the human spirit.
Anna works from her home studio, where sunlight, sea breezes, and the sounds of the coast shape her creative process. She paints intuitively, letting colour guide her, layering texture and movement until each piece carries the energy she hopes to share.
Her work is uplifting, fresh, and deeply calming. Whether creating original paintings, commissions, or limited-edition prints, Anna’s goal is simple—to bring a sense of coastal joy into the homes of others.
Her evolving Coastal Motion Series celebrates the ever-changing beauty of the sea, where light, movement, and quiet resilience come together.
Anna was selected as a finalist in The Doyles Art Award in 2022, 2025 and 2026, with one of her works selling at the 2026 exhibition. She also received Second Prize in a sea-themed exhibition at the Royal Queensland Art Society (RQAS) Gallery.
