I came across this unusual mangave cross at my local nursery. It had beautiful long arching leaves, mottled with colours of burgundy and rusty red. A bit like a chameleon, this plant will change to a blue green if planted in a shaded position.
Admiring this prickly beauty from afar, I didn't dare touch its leaves. They were lined with small sharp spikes, which it has evolved to discourage hungry animals from eating it.
