Eucalypta, from this piece my Australian Lady-Flower series have commenced.
Through my artwork, I aimed to portray a character who embodies strength, determination, and protection.
Some Indigenous Australians consider the eucalyptus tree to be sacred and its flowers to symbolize the separation of the underworld, earth, and heaven.
They also believe that burning eucalyptus flowers purifies negative energy.
Interestingly, the term 'eucalyptus' originates from the Greek words 'eu', meaning good, well, true, beauty, or very, and 'kalypto', meaning cover, conceal, or hide, referring to the caps that cover the plant's flowers.
