Artwork Description

Plants have long been an interest of mine, and the first "unicorn" plant I ever got for myself was the aglaonema 'pictum tricolor'. Its camouflage pattern and shimmer are striking and unique. I wanted to find a way to paint it and include the silvery details. So whilst this painting may have a whimsical glitter added to it, it isn't far off from what the plant looks like in real life.

Artist Bio

I am a painter and illustrator based in the Gold Coast. I have previously lived in the Manila, New Mexico, Sydney, the Central Coast, and Canberra. Professionally, I have worked in Advertising and have also done museum work.

My current focus is landscape and plant painting, experimenting with both realistic, and whimsical colours.

Though scenes from nature are my main subject, I have also dabbled in portraiture and still life. Artists I admire include Claude Monet, Cressida Campbell, and James Jean.

The materials I use are artist-grade, ensuring that the paint will not easily fade or crack under proper care.
