Anna Révész is an emerging, Adelaide-based artist working across several mediums, with a particular interest in photography and the opportunities it presents to capture, relive or totally reinvent moments in time. Révész explores the interchange between past and present moments and attempts to navigate spaces of instability and uncertainty. Utilising both digital and analogue photography she also explores ideas of memory and how it is created, sustained or reconstructed. Révész allows room in her works for contemplation and reflection – a slowing down of pace that becomes an antidote to the fast-paced nature of modern existence.
Révész is a graduate of Flinders University and Adelaide College of the Arts (2019). In 2020 she was awarded the Linden New Art Award at the Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition, subsequently showing her first solo exhibition, Architecture of Memory at Linden New Art in 2021. She recently undertook a mentorship with Hossein Valamanesh (Helpmann Academy Elevate Mentorships 2021). In 2021 she was a resident at Praxis Artspace Studios, and in 2022 she was a resident at 215 Magill (both opportunities via Helpmann Academy).
Révész's latest solo exhibition, Divine Machina (Praxis Artspace, July/August 2022) explored the melding of human and artificial intelligence through photography, poetry and installation.
