Aquatic

Aquatic is an abstract interpretation of an underwater world — fluid, mysterious and full of movement. As I created this painting, the flowing layers of turquoise, aqua and deep blue began to form shapes that reminded me of sea plants, jellyfish and tiny creatures drifting through the water.

I didn’t set out to paint anything specific. I allowed the paint to move and develop naturally, and gradually this imaginary aquatic environment appeared. The soft white forms seem to float across the surface, while touches of deep blue and gold create depth and bring the underwater world to life.

The painting is embellished with crushed glass and glitter, adding texture and a subtle sparkle that catches the light and changes as you move around the artwork.

For me, Aquatic captures the feeling of being underwater — the movement of water, shifting light, and the strange and beautiful life that might be hiding beneath the surface. I like that everyone can look at it and discover their own creatures and shapes within it.
