Worsleya Procera

Worsleya Procera are a rare feature plant that come from South America. I have this unusual plant in a pot at the front of my house where it can be admired daily. Its leaves are blue-grey in colour and they fan out in a semi circle. They flower in summer with a gorgeous array of lilac blue flowers from one stem.

My name is Anna van der Gardner, I am a passionate botanical & landscape artist. I love to paint in watercolour, oils and acrylics, totally different mediums that bring such different results.
My passion is for painting everything that is in the botanical or natural world. I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by a botanical treasury of plants and birdlife which is where I draw my inspiration from. I photograph them closely and study the fine detail before selecting which flower, bird or scene to paint. I also live by the coast in Bronte where I am constantly photographing the ocean, beaches and parks close to my home so I can capture them on canvas.
