MOON GAZE

MOON GAZE was inspired by a personal moment. While walking through a market in Melbourne with my husband, he gifted me an iris photography experience — a photograph revealing the unique colours and intricate details of my eye.

As my artistic language is centred around black and gold, this image stayed with me and inspired me to reinterpret the human eye in my own style. I imagined it as the eye of the Moon — deep, mysterious and quietly all-seeing.

Created with black acrylic and heavy-body metallic gold acrylic on canvas, the artwork changes subtly with the light, revealing different depths and reflections.

I am a Melbourne-based contemporary artist working with abstraction, minimalism and mixed media. I explore texture, contrast, depth and scale, using acrylics, textured acrylic paste, gold and copper leaf, and other materials to create tactile, dimensional surfaces.
