Artwork Description

This still life is inspired by regular visits to my friends cattle station in the North of Western Australia. It is a stunning old homestead and recently she had a new kitchen built in which is an impressive concrete bench top. Its glossy surface would create lovely reflections such as in this still life.

This still life uses brighter, bolder colours then I would normally, but I really wanted to capture the reflections. I have used a textural background with a hint of blue, green and pink to add interest.

A small abstract painting including rich earthy colours with pink tones and pops of mint, curved shapes and lots of movement. Rolling fields in foreground on a blue sky background. Trees in the distance. Fields consist of pink and earthy tones with pops of mint, aqua and orange. Lots of colour, shapes and movement. An abstract landscape depicting a rocky gully, much like the gorges in North West Australia. Includes a strong purple sky and distant hills. Foreground is strong in colour and movement. Strong shapes and structures form the rocky gully. Deep reds and earthy tones are broken up by pops of orange, aqua and cream.
