This is a scene from one of my favourite places on our farm "Stockyard Gully". As you can see the creek is dry which has been its usual state for the last 20 years, with the occasional puddle in winter. The surrounding landscape is typical of the mid west of WA, low scrub, gravel and dust. This particular spot is really lovely around sunset.
I wanted to depict the haziness surrounding the trees and scrub at that time of the day with rough brushstrokes, blending the colour into the background in an abstract way.
