Artwork Description

An impressionistic painting of a trailer boat on its way out to sea. The simplistic lifestyle of Fishermen's villages fascinates me. Mixed media were used to create a fun piece of art work. The sun is a pasted piece of a picture one of my primary school students made for me. I named the boat after her. This painting will enhance any room where the owner might love boats or their decor is nautical inspired.

Artist Bio

South African-born artist Annakie now resides and works in Brisbane, Australia.

Her artistic side has always been part of her life journey. She pursued Interior Design, owned a Cafe with a French influence and a few years ago added Wedding Stylist to the list. It was during 2012 that she discovered her true passion is canvas art, though.

She enrolled in various art classes taught by prominent local artists to experiment with various styles and mediums as a guide to find her authentic style. She draws inspiration from her South African heritage where vivid colour is frequently used in art.

She enjoys how liberating acrylics are and finds oils to be a restricting medium. The use of oil pastels and charcoals as mark making are her favourite finish on most artwork.

She has had her work featured in two Brisbane galleries and regularly hosts art exhibitions at her house and at markets.

Several of her works of art were purchased by a renowned Real Estate company in her hometown. Additionally, her artwork is shown in the homes of collectors in South Africa, Canada and America.
