Remembering Poppies

One of my favourite subjects, poppies. I have done many paintings of this very significant flower representing our history as a nation.

I started painting with folkart in the nineties. I soon realised that I needed to expand my horizons and ventured into acrylics and mixed media. I try a wide variety of subjects from landscape‚ animals‚ birds and abstract. I love lots of colour as well as movement. I try not to make things "too lifelike" as I believe paintings should be more personal‚ sometimes quirky or surreal and have the artists personality evident. I just love to paint!
