Inspired by the Pilbara region of WA. An imagined aerial view of the magnificent color of the red, rust earth, the tracks and roads as well as the contrast of the lush iridescent green of the crops irrigated from aquifers.

Artwork Description
Artist Bio
I am an abstract landscape painter.
Decades ago, a trip to Central Australia moved me to capture some essence of the landscape and its impact on me.
I am inspired by the colour, timelessness, strength and dignity of the Australian outback landscape. The duality of fragility and strength.
During the decades that followed, I regularly spent months at a time in the arid regions and remote wild coasts.
My work is evolving into deeper abstraction. Reduction of the landscape to elemental lines, shapes and colour.
I primarily work with oil paint on wood board.
