This landscape is inspired by wonderful memories of time spend in Ireland. The beaches and old stone buildings. The wonderful light in the sky. It also reminds me of many of the coastal inlets along the southern coast of Australia.

I am an abstract landscape painter.
Decades ago, a trip to Central Australia moved me to capture some essence of the landscape and its impact on me.
I am inspired by the colour, timelessness, strength and dignity of the Australian outback landscape. The duality of fragility and strength.
During the decades that followed, I regularly spent months at a time in the arid regions and remote wild coasts.
My work is evolving into deeper abstraction. Reduction of the landscape to elemental lines, shapes and colour.
I primarily work with oil paint on wood board.
