Anne was born in Grafton, NSW but currently lives in Brisbane, Queensland.
She has been painting for many years and has attended private art lessons, life drawing sessions,
workshops at Brisbane Institute of Art, and lessons with professional artists.
She studied at TAFE and was awarded a Certificate III in Visual Arts in 2009, and Certificate IV in
Visual Arts in 2010. Many of her paintings hang in private collections.
In 2004 she won a first prize award in the Brookfield Show and Highly Commended for another work.
She also received Highly Commended for two paintings at Ipswich Show in 2012 and has participated in
several group exhibitions:
• 2009, Drawing Point Gallery, Ipswich
• April 2010, solo exhibition at Doggett Street Studio, Newstead
• 2011, White Canvas Gallery, Fortitude Valley.
Anne’s favourite medium is oil paint, but she also paints with acrylics and watercolour. Her favourite subject is the beach,
recalling childhood holidays and visits to her grandparents beach house. In her art, she tries to convey the feelings of being
in nature and away from the stress of our everyday lives, especially in the cities.
She loves to paint the movement of water, the intricacies of light and shadow and the complexity of reflections, as well as
people and their relationship to the environment. Anne loves to paint for its own sake but also loves to share her art with
people who are touched by the same themes she is exploring.
