Painting is a life giving, necessity for me. My paintings are layered and intuitive with texture and strong bright colours. I work with music to create movement on the canvas creating an alive unfinished quality. My studio I call my "Art Garage". It's rustic and unfinished as I never have time to make it perfect but love my place of my own where I can be solitary and immersed. This online gallery has a mixture of subjects as I enjoy painting different styles depending on my mood. I create bright, bold, large paintings , flowers, as well as a collection of figurative coastal inspired paintings. I use acrylic, oil sticks, posca pens and other thickening mediums which create beautiful texture.
My inspiration comes from the vibrant surroundings of beaches, beautiful gardens and culture which are part of everyday life in Sydney. Sometimes it's just a piece of fabric or a bunch of flowers which informs my colour palette. I love swimming and being in the ocean ,so many of my paintings reflect coastal life and embody a calm content energy.
