Ann has not had any formal art training and did not start painting seriously until she retired. During this time she also took up photography and found that her experiences in photography enhanced her appreciation of composition and light. She enjoyed applying this knowledge to her painting.
She started out as a self-taught acrylic painter and graphite pencil artist but has recently fallen in love with watercolours and has been taking classes to improve her skills in this medium.
Her style is eclectic, leaning towards realism.
Ann has been a finalist in the Australian Greenway Art Prize and has received commendations in her local Art Society shows. Although she considers herself a hobby artist, she has sold numerous paintings to private collectors.
