It’s Only The Beginning

Inspired by Australian singer and songwriter, Deborah Conway, and her song, 'It's Only the Beginning”, this work was created at the onset of the covid pandemic in 2020. My disbelief, shock and feeling of being in the unknown, explains the random markings in the painting, and how the craziest situations can also be blessings in disguise.

I am a self-taught artist, who has been painting intermittently since the age of 18 (which is 40 years now).

During this time, my work has evolved from realistic representations of native wildlife and fauna, to a more free and abstract expression from my heart. I love colour, bold markings and work intuitively (often dancing while I paint)!

Life is my greatest inspiration. My outer world (nature, people, the world around me) and my inner world (emotions, experiences and personal growth) both initiate my expression. In fact anything that opens my heart to more of life, ignites my passion for painting.

If you feel a connection to one of my pieces, my wish for you is that it may inspire you to live more fully. Art is powerful and has the ability to transform our lives, if we allow it in.
