Growing up on a beef cattle farm in south west Victoria in the 70s meant we had to learn to entertain ourselves. Sadly x-box hadn't been invented yet. Drawing, painting, horse riding and gardening were the things I loved. Its now many years down the track and these four things still divert my attention from the things I 'should' be doing. I am a full time flower farmer and lover of garden design. Which taken in a literal sense, is truest form of landscape painting.
I work mainly in acrylics although, more recently, have been working increasingly in oils. I love simplicity, colour and bold forms. Although I consider myself an amateur, painting is something I have always done, and for a long time I was simply self taught. Eventually however, I did undertake an advanced diploma in fine art at South West Tafe. I hope everyone can take at least some small pleasure from my work, as I do. Enjoy.
