With a childhood filled with endless opportunities to create, Annie Ryan has been making some form or art for as long as she can remember.
From the Central West of NSW, Annie has only recently decided to be brave and commit a lot more time flexing her artistic muscle. As a Gemini she loves variety in as many aspects of her life as possible and truly enjoys working with a wide range of art styles, mediums, and techniques. Annie now finds that her approach is quite methodical and, by her own admission, is slightly obsessive with attention to detail - a hallmark of her wonderful pieces.
Annie wants to enable the viewer to see things that perhaps they hadn’t noticed before as she believes this can translate into other areas of life - areas where we can lose focus of the little details or moments that can bring such solace and relief from the hectic pace of the bigger world.
Annie describes her studio as a beautiful light filled room where she sits at an old table honing her art. Art which varies with the change of seasons and weather, looking out to a group of old gums and pines with the sound of her chickens scratching around under the window. Being in this space has really inspired her creative process.
Inspiration comes to Annie from so many aspects of her life, but her greatest inspiration is gratitude.
“The essence of all beautiful art, all great art, is gratitude.” – Friedrich Nietzsche
