Beachcombing

Another of my original abstract works, this time using organic forms and bright colours.
In my imagination I see the piece as a kind of aerial landscape. I thought of walking along the beach looking for some of nature's treasures.
The work is painted with professional quality materials on cotton canvas.
The painting is stretched on a wooden frame and is ready to hang.
The edges of the piece are painted so framing is not necessary.

I am a visual artist based in Hobart, Tasmania, I trained at the Tasmanian School of Art, earning a Master of Fine Art and Design in 2002. I have won numerous awards and exhibited widely in Australia and overseas.
My professional experience includes a number of artist residencies including at the Cite' Internationale des Arts in Paris.
I have worked in a range of media including sculpture, photography and painting. My current interest is in abstract and non-representational art, particularly geometrical abstraction.
I am inspired by the natural world and my everyday experience, though my works are not direct representations of "things" they are stimulated by my surroundings.
