Colour Composition 2

"Colour Composition 2" is one of new series of geometric abstract paintings inspired by my interest in modernist art, mid century design and the colours of nature.
I enjoy the challenge of constructing a visually complex paintings, balancing the colours and forms to make an overall harmonious picture.
The work is painted on a canvas that is stretched over a wooden panel. The picture has hanging hardware installed and is ready to display in your home.

I am a visual artist based in Hobart, Tasmania, I trained at the Tasmanian School of Art, earning a Master of Fine Art and Design in 2002. I have won numerous awards and exhibited widely in Australia and overseas.
My professional experience includes a number of artist residencies including at the Cite' Internationale des Arts in Paris.
I have worked in a range of media including sculpture, photography and painting. My current interest is in abstract and non-representational art, particularly geometrical abstraction.
I am inspired by the natural world and my everyday experience, though my works are not direct representations of "things" they are stimulated by my surroundings.
