Artwork Description

This art is the perfect depiction of the artists' "scattered" mind. Using multiple layers of acrylic paint, gesso, texture past, this is a heavily textured emotional abstract piece. It captures the viewer immediately and draws them into whatever they can see from their own feelings and imagination. It can also be hung horizontally or vertically, both ways have a different feel but are equally perfect.

Artist Bio

Hi, I'm Antigone, an Australian artist from Sydney.
My life and creative journey have been shaped by a love of travel, exploration, and cultural connection. Over the years, I have lived across Europe and Australia and immersed myself in different countries, people, and ways of life. These experiences have broadened my perspective and continue to influence my work, inspiring the colours, emotions, and stories that emerge through my paintings.
I am drawn to abstract art and expressive faces, using paint as a way to explore emotions that often cannot be put into words. Rather than beginning with a fixed plan, I approach each canvas intuitively, allowing the work to evolve naturally as I create.
Colour plays a central role in my practice. I am fascinated by the way colours interact, clash, harmonise, and evoke feeling. Through layering, movement, and texture, I create pieces that invite viewers to connect with their own interpretations and emotional responses.
Music is an essential part of my creative process. Every painting begins with a soundtrack, and the rhythm, energy, and emotion of the music often shape the direction of the work.
For me, art is not about perfection or planning. It is about expression, exploration, and capturing a moment, emotion, or feeling that words alone cannot convey.
