I am a mixed media artist and sculptor, living and working in Canberra, ACT.
Having grown up in South Africa my work is inspired by themes of immigration, travel, heritage and faith.
I have exhibited widely in ACT and interstate, and have done artist residencies in Tasmania and locally.
My work ranges from abstract, intuitive forms and markmaking to figurative and illustrational, all layered and infused with narratives of life and hope.
Lulu is the happy little main character in the Lulu series.
She lives life to the fullest and spreads joy and precious nuggets of truth as she goes.
She was made from the heart, using paints and pens and pretty found things, amazing patterned papers and all kinds of lettering to express the song bubbling in her heart.
Don't be surprised to find embossed textures on backgrounds and lettering on tiny metal plaques, all woven together with stories of travel and living your dreams.
Lulu would love to come live in your home and could be made especially to suit your interests...sailing? sewing? flying?
Let me know what you have in mind. She loves all kinds of adventures!
