I was born in Australia , from a French mother and and an Aussie father. After living and teaching overseas for many years, we, my husband Jean-Marc and our daughter Danah , started a new life in Australia some 20 years ago.
Painting is a media I had always dabbled in, but it is only once we returned here that I really got into it. I had time, I was inspired.
I don't know that I would call myself an artist. I paint. Painting just brings me so much peace and joy , it abstracts me from everything and yet allows me to process so many things.
I take my inspiration from the world around me, the good , the sad, the beautiful, the bad and all events that mark or touch me. I have always been interested in psychology, in people, in the intricacies of communication and feelings. Sometimes my paintings are just driven by colours and a need to express a feeling in colours.I am not a tortured artist, I paint freely when I am well and happy.
My style has evolved over the years and I imagine it will keep evolving. I like the artwork to guide me until the point when I believe there is nothing more I can add to it, it is them complete.
