I am very fascinated to capture the mood of the atmosphere, as everything just changes, obviously mind, thinking, and even our surroundings, but the challenge lies in coming into the present. The painting process helps my mind jump into now

Artist Bio
Born in Kishoreganj, Bangladesh, Arafat Hosen studied Fine Art at Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology and began my teaching career as a lecturer in 2009. Teaching and painting have since become parallel passions, nurturing my creative growth.
Early in my career, i focused on human figures and portraits in oil and acrylic. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, i turned to plein air watercolor painting—an experience that reshaped my artistic language. I discovered that watercolor, much like the human mind, resists control but invites observation. This insight inspired a new chapter, leading my to travel across Bangladesh, capturing its rich landscapes in vibrant, fluid strokes.
Despite my deep connection with nature, urban life has always fascinated me—the people, the mood, the rhythm of city crowds. This interest continued after relocating to Australia, where the contrast between the landscapes of Bangladesh and Australia became a new source of exploration. My recent series reflects the energy of Gold Coast beaches and the character of Australian cityscapes.
Today, i shares my skills with diverse art communities in Australia, fostering cultural exchange and contributing to a shared creative vision.
