I found this Nutty Banksia in Broken Head in Byron Shire Northern NSW, they line the beaches up there, such fabulous bushland - edging right up to the sheer blue of the Pacific Ocean. Underneath those shaggy bristle lies a woody seed waiting for fire, and the softest brown velvet - long since a favourite of Australia children who know the Banksia's secrets.

Artist Bio
Growing up I spent the bulk of my free time either drawing and painting or scrambling through wallaby trials of the surrounding wild bush-lands.
Throw in a large dose of love for archetypal symbolism and mystic dream imagery and you get me, quintessentially.
I am multidisciplinary artist, having worked in costume, textiles, wearable art, sculpture, ceramics, photography and illustration.
I love having the freedom to explore other mediums and seeing how the continuity of aesthetic and intention wear the materials like a garment, stepping into clay and then into ink - the same essence shimmers through.
I am currently running The Aurora Fae Studio Gallery in the beautiful Huon Valley region of Tasmania, this gives me the oppourtunity to showcase by work and and a wonderful light filled studio to work in.
