I love painting a woman’s body. I find it powerful in depicting a woman who is confident, sensual strong and yet vulnerable.
Here I have created a woman who is lost in her own thoughts simply gazing out through a window. She is calm and confident, hopeful and yes fearful at the same time for new beginnings.
The blue velvet cushion is a comfort as she sits naked. Her beautiful thick brown hair subtly falls on her shoulders and down her back. The sheer white curtain softly brushing against her arm blowing in the breeze.
Her thoughts turn towards shedding the stories that she has been told all her life about who she is and what she should do. She is digging deep within herself to rewrite her own stories.
