Mixed Media on paper
Signed on the back.
βIt might have been the direction of the wind, or the odd acoustics in undulating gullies that led to my unexpected encounter with a mob of kangaroos. On the quad with my dog, we shunted to a halt. The roos popped up out of the long grass, and we all stood about questioning what the others were up to. The roo at the back was a little fidgety, but they all managed to hold their nerve until I took my happy reference snaps and left them to it.β
This original artwork is a hand-pulled Akua Intaglio Ink drypoint monoprint, created on an etching press, and collaged with acrylic poured skins. The paper is 200gsm Fabriano Accedamia.
The acrylic abstracted elements are derived from the colours and movement of the landscape - rocks, water, eucalyptus etc
The print plate was created by inscribing with a drypoint needle. It is inked and wiped with sensitivity for each individual print, allowing for a lovely variation between prints.
