Windswept Poppy

I started out trying a semi abstract painting of a field with Poppy flowers but it seemed to morph into a more abstract landscape and the Poppies reminded me of people walking around the geometric background.

I paint in a modern contemporary style and try to capture the movement in the subject with fluid brush strokes. The moody, brooding atmosphere that comes with using dusty colours help make the paintings not about the subject matter but about the evocative feelings.
