Artwork Description

I started this piece after I moved units. I went from being in a unit for one year with friends and support. I was moved as I challenged the staff and told them I wouldn't be bullied or intimidated. They then moved me to another unit, where all these things were taken from me. Senior staff can move me, try to break me, take everyone away from me, everyone that I built connections with. They purposely put me in a unit where I didn't want to go and thought it would upset me. Turns out, I love being in this new unit and I believe the move was good for me. Thank you for my Punishment.

Artist Bio

This Life is a fragile, beautiful thing.
My artistic journey is rooted in the exploration of colour and texture. Using acrylics on canvas, I experiment with different techniques to create visually striking compositions. My pieces join the joy of abandon with colour to create bold, bright, daring pieces. My art reflects my connection to the Wiradjuri land and my people's stories.
Through my paintings, I aim to share the wisdom of my ancestors, the beauty of our country, and the resilience of our people.
I use contemporary styles to express my heritage, and my vision of a future where Indigenous knowledge is understood and valued.
My work is influenced by my surroundings, from the bustling city of Melbourne. Each piece is a testament to my passion for art and my desire to push the boundaries of creativity using acrylics on canvas, I strive to capture the essence of movement and energy in my pieces. Each stroke is a deliberate attempt to convey the emotions and experiences that shape my life.
As an artist, I am fascinated by the interplay of light and shadow. My acrylic paintings on canvas explore this, creating a sense of depth and dimension. Inspired by my life events my artwork seeks to highlight the beauty and complexity of the world I live in. Through my art, I aim to evoke a sense of wonder, contemplation, pain and understanding.
Experience is a virtue. Looking at my work puts you inside a moment to experience the laughter, the sadness, the confusion, the heartbreak, the fear and the bliss shared in a single expression.
