Artwork Description

'Butlers' is an aerial photo of Bulters Beach, located on the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia.

Limited Edition 1 of 1

I snapped this photograph while enjoying a holiday at Hills Hillocks Point Pods (Bulters Beach) and checking out the ocean for Salmon. I was drawn to the textures of the rocks and the deep emerald greens of the ocean, highlighted by the wash of the crashing waves.

The Hillock Ocean Pods provide a glamorous camping experience. The contemporary accommodation is situated in a coastal bush with magnificent views of Butler’s Beach and Hillocks Point. Located 14km from Marion Bay, Butlers Beach in Hillocks Drive is a private property offering a perfect coastal retreat. It has been in the family for generations and provides access to 7km of private coastline. Various camping areas are within Hillocks Drive, each with its own unique features and facilities.

260gsm premium white satin lustre paper is used in conjunction with Epson Ultrachrome archival inks to produce beautifully rich, vibrant colours and deep blacks.

Framed in a beautiful solid oak white frame with a white border. The photograph is made to order. Please allow 10 -14 days for printing, framing & shipping.

Artist Bio

I’m an Australian photographer specialising in abstract landscape photography, exploring the quiet relationship between land, pattern, and perspective. Through aerial imagery and considered composition, I aim to reveal the subtle geometry and rhythm that naturally occurs within the environment — often transforming familiar terrain into something contemplative and unexpected.

Much of my work is captured across South Australia’s diverse landscapes, from mineral-rich coastal flats to expansive inland textures. I’m particularly drawn to repetition, striation, and tonal contrast, and how these natural elements can create images that feel both minimal and visually engaging. By shifting perspective, I enjoy highlighting details that might otherwise go unnoticed.

My approach is intentionally simple. I try to let the subject speak through balance, form, and light, allowing the natural structure of the landscape to become the focus. The result sits between fine art and observation, with the hope that each piece brings a sense of calm and quiet intrigue.

I’ve been fortunate to have my work recognised through several photographic competition finalist placements, including The Australian Photographic Prize, where I was awarded a Gold Medal. While recognition is always encouraging, my main focus is creating images that feel timeless and considered.

Ultimately, I aim to create photographs that invite people to slow down and see the landscape differently — discovering beauty in subtle detail, and bringing a sense of stillness into the spaces where the work is displayed.
