Artwork Description

The fourth artwork in a four piece collection about the beauty of different cultures. SOAR. Rooi is the Afrikaans translation for the colour Red. This colour can be associated with Africa's well known red sunsets. I wanted to show the simple beauty of an African woman wearing a thick (yet not overbearing) necklace, and a gele, a traditional head wrap for Nigerians, shared between many African cultures.
(Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing the collection as a whole)

Artist Bio

Ever since I was a little girl drawing has been a way for me to communicate. First starting out with stick figures to now creating hyper realistic portraits. Over the course of my schooling I have dabbled in a vast array of mediums, leading me to favor graphite/charcoal and water colour. My art consists of showing the natural beauty of my subject, keeping my meaning short and simple.

Less is more.
