I was influenced by the song - Nut-Bush City limits, sung by Tina Turner. I had just finished reading about her tragic life story and how she became her own person. So this painting is dedicated to her struggles to be free! We all feel at times on the outskirts of the city, just seeing the bright lights in the distance and never feeling like we belong.

Artist Bio
I am of Thai and Norwegian blood, and in the past have lived in Asia (Bangkok, Singapore, Penang, Bali) and in Australia. I am inspired by nature and the landscape. My paintings seem to vacillate between the semi abstract and abstract with moments of irregularity and chance that occurs within my random process. I really enjoy pushing the boundaries of media and technique. Each painting evolves slowly as I sometimes have 7-8 layers between start to finish. I embrace the poetry of life and land while bringing in the essence of the spiritual world. Each work evolves of its own accord as meaning and paint combine.
