“Getting outside is good for the soul. Through my artwork, I try to bring the outside in. While I make no attempt to portray accurate plants or landscapes, I do want my pieces to look like they could have lived or grown somewhere. Living with beautiful objects that pay tribute to the natural world reminds us to slow down and helps us reconnect with nature”. Alison Sigethy.
I have three jobs; a stay-at-home mum to two beautiful children aged 1 and 3, a pharmacist and finally, an artist. I originally started to paint still life flowers, but as time has passed, I have been drawn to the style of impressionism and abstract art. I strive to create artwork that is like a window into a garden of profound beauty and brightness.
As an artist, I primarily use oil paints and on a stretched canvas or on linen/canvas paper. I love to create highly textured artwork that exhibit depth and a three-dimensional look. Often inspired by people’s gardens when I take my dog for a walk and I study the garden and use that memory to create.
