Artwork Description

A vibrant white cockatoo rests quietly among cascading jacaranda blossoms, celebrating the beauty of an Australian spring. Rich shades of turquoise, violet, and gold bring the scene to life, while layers of thick texture create depth and movement throughout the painting.

Inspired by the annual jacaranda bloom that transforms streets and parks into a sea of purple, this artwork captures a peaceful moment in nature. The striking white cockatoo stands in contrast to the vivid blossoms, drawing the eye while conveying a sense of calm, curiosity, and connection to the Australian landscape.

Created using expressive palette knife techniques and heavy impasto texture, the painting invites viewers to appreciate both the intricate details and the tactile quality of the surface. A joyful celebration of native wildlife and seasonal colour, Among the Jacarandas brings warmth, texture, and a touch of Australian charm to any space.

Artist Bio

My Art is a reflection of people, places and experiences that bring me JOY. It’s about the things we do, objects we use and emotions we feel.

My paintings are my way of communicating with the observer about things of everyday life we all have in common and the importance of being in the moment.

Most of my paintings are highly textured. I use my self developed mixed medium style to create paintings that are almost sculptural. On each artwork, there are often several layers of paint and mediums and I paint with oil to finish it off.

My aim is to keep my art joyful, simple and understandable so people can connect to and enjoy hanging them on their walls at home. To be hung in someone’s home is a privilege, something I find a lot of satisfaction in.

Thank you for visiting and I believe my art brings you joy and happiness as that’s my one and only goal.
