Artwork Description

Lost is feeling out the end of life but not of hope. Horse and rider are still ready to go on, and roam the world. It is a sensitive description of how we all have felt at some stage during the last year - Lost, but not gone. Just a bit battered- but still ok.

Trained as an art teacher in The Netherlands, it was only in Australia (and after our 3 kids grew up a little) that I focussed on my sculpture career.
Moving countries was interesting, but also brought some problems- different sources and language sometimes prohibited me from finding the materials I was used to.
My inspiration has always been in nature, and in animals as their liveliness and movement touches me. I love plastic materials like clay, wax and cement, and at the same time love working with metal- and the very best is combining them!
When working with a material I will always seek out what cant be done- and how to do it anyway.
