Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed certificate of authenticity.

Lilies have been a fascination for painters since Monet's enormous paintings of his garden lilies.
These lilies were found in northern Australia. I was much taken by the interplay of light on the water and on the flat lily pads that got smaller into the distance.

The Wairuna yards are a big empty space framed by wooden posts and yards. The wooden floor slats direct the eye towards the dim interior lit by small glowing openings.A front on, symmetrical view of a huge cathedral like interior of a woolshed.A wiry tea tree bush is reflected in water. the dark outlines of the tree interrupted by a pattern of lily leaves.
