Barb is a Melbourne based multi-media artist working primarily in the medium of contemporary mosaic art- a harmonious fusion of imagery, sculpture and collage and the enduring influence of an ancient art form. Over 20 years of art practice her work has evolved to a more abstract rendering of concepts relating to the human condition.
She also paints in oil, acrylics and watercolour, exploring the essence of place and person in a predominantly tonalist style alongside dramatic minimalist abstract works.
Her work has been widely exhibited in state, country and international mosaic exhibitions earning numerous awards in the medium. She has recently been a featured artist in a book on mosaic, ‘Mosaics Inspired by Nature’ by Rachel Davies. She was the Victorian coordinator for Hanging by a Thread-Mosaic for Afghan Women, part of an international art collaboration advocating for the human rights of women in Afghanistan. She was an invited artist to the 2025 International Mosaic Symposium in Adana, Turkey. Barb currently serves as Exhibition Coordinator for both the Victorian and National branches of Mosaic Association of Australia and New Zealand (MAANZ).
