I grew up painting these old magestic gum trees. They have so much character after being through fire, flood and drought and whatever mother nature throws at them. I found this one after driving around the Mudgee area a few years back,i knew straight away it was worth a painting. It was the twisted, narly branches and size of the tree that caught my eye. I was very happy with the outcome of this picture. I used oils on canvas glued down to marine ply.
