Hello. Family and friends aside, I have two Passions Art and the building and flying of model planes. I live in Seymour a country town in the paradise that is north central Victoria. All my early years of painting were done in oils I was lucky to have two great artists giving me lessons, Max Middleton and Joe Attard. I can still hear Max although he has passed away, saying with passion DESIGN, DESIGN, DESIGN, SHAPES, SHAPES, SHAPES, TONE, TONE, TONE, you knucklehead. Well forty years slipped away and COVID lock down hit, my house is not set up for painting in oils, so a change of direction was needed.
I fell in love big time with the mediums that I now paint in.
• Watercolour.
• Gouache.
• Pastel.
I some times combine them all in a painting, they are all brilliant to paint with indoors or outdoors. I paint indoors mostly now not as young as I used to be, I am 84 at the time writing this (2025)
I paint most days and nights, well not always painting I rely on the drawings I do on site and in the studio for my paintings, I am hopeless at working from photographs.
Another local artist asked me why am I wasting my time painting the still life I was doing, still life doesn`t sell. Well I don’t care, I paint for myself if a person byes a painting, that is a Hugh thrill for me. I teach art one day week with U3A (University of the Third Age) on a volunteer basis.
All my works come framed ready to hang, that way I know they will look and be protected in a professional archival manner
Thank you and Kind Regards
