Frosted Mint Green is a very large abstract field painting inspired in part by the art of Rothko where light penetrates the surface of the painting allowing the underlying colours to radiate. I have endeavored to achieve this while also using thick paint to give a textured sculptural look. This is a soft, calm, restful painting.
The Painting is on a ply panel which is backed with a timber support frame made with professional quality joinery.
Artist quality acrylic paints are used. The board is first sealed front and back and the sides are painted to tone with the painting. The painting is finished with layers of protective polymer varnish. Heavy duty "D" rings and cord are attached so that the painting is ready to hang. A signed certificate of authenticity is included.
