The foundation of my artworks on aluminium is composed of curated images taken over the past few years during road trips, hikes and underwater dives. Each image started as one of my photograph. The emotion of witnessing a special time and place is authentic and will be the thread till the final unique hand carved artwork is produced. Through a process of addition, subtraction, manipulation and endless reevaluation, digital and physical, a completed final image is born and will remain unique.
Embedded in this series are references to magical realism, geometrical abstraction, abstract expressionism and modernism. Feeling the power and the fragility of Nature around me induces a sense of sacred which translates in an alternate reality. By entering imagination and calm, stillness and peace are the destination. My hand carved works echo this spiritual journey into such incomparable places. In the final touch each mark is a shard of light.
The artwork is framed with an aluminium frame that finishes the presentation in a contemporary style. It is ready to hang.
