Artwork Description

Inspired by a little branch of gum nuts my daughter brought home for me one day.

Artist Bio

The only thing I know for sure about my art is that I love creating, it's my therapy. Primarily a realism portrait artist, I also love exploring abstract and impressionistic art which I find far harder, very challenging and highly rewarding. No idea as to where my abstract work is headed, I try to work without over thinking and believe the magic happens in the making, through trials and fails, constantly growing as an artist. I often find inspiration. in nature, in it's many colours and patterns.

My artistic journey began when I was able to hold a pencil, with fond memories of sitting around my Grandmothers dining table, drawing and creating from her ‘scraps for craft’ basket.

After completing a degree in Graphic Art at Swinburne, Melbourne, I worked as a graphic designer for 5 years. During this time I began exhibiting my own drawings and gained recognition for creating beautiful, realistic and dreamy portraits of women, often accompanied by elements of nature and items of a by-gone-era. My hope is to portray women in a positive light, undefined by society.

Over the next 10 years, I reached international status for my portraits with two Solo Exhibitions in Los Angeles and various international group exhibitions. After six years in the city, I relocated to my country roots in the picturesque Kiewa Valley, Australia.

My artistic journey now incorporates, along side my realism, exploring and evolving my art practice.
