Artwork Description

Paul Kelly is a legendary Australian singer/songwriter. I've been a fan for many many years and have had the pleasure of photographing him live twice, at the Canberra Botanical Gardens in concert with Archie Roach back in 1998 and at the Australian of the Year Awards in 2015 - where this image was made. I queued to meet him and have his book signed after the Botanic Gardens event. He humbly deflected my gushing words to promote his friend Archie Roach, telling me that he was playing solo later that day. I knew that and already had my tickets!
