Waratah Blooming

I am inspired by the beauty and uniqueness of Australia's flora and have painted many images of flowers. This painting of a waratah was inspired by a walk through dunes on the Central Coast of NSW.
The canvas features an acrylic varnish to protect against dust, moisture, and UV light.

The foundations of my artistic practice began with screen printing and relief techniques, which influenced my approach to painting. I incorporate bold shapes, layered textures, and graphic elements into my work, drawing inspiration from flora and fauna. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of watercolour and acrylics to introduce a touch of magic to my pieces, whether through unconventional colour combinations or altered perspectives. My goal is to create artworks that feel both grounded and subtly transformative.
