Waterfall Wonder

This is my impression after walking through a rainforest in the Byron Bay hinterland. I created layered textures to suggest the canopy, and the yellow glimmer implies filtered light breaking through dense foliage, revealing glimpses of a waterfall. The artwork is painted on an archival canvas and coated in two layers of varnish for protection.

The foundations of my artistic practice began with screen printing and relief techniques, which influenced my approach to painting. I incorporate bold shapes, layered textures, and graphic elements into my work, drawing inspiration from flora and fauna. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of watercolour and acrylics to introduce a touch of magic to my pieces, whether through unconventional colour combinations or altered perspectives. My goal is to create artworks that feel both grounded and subtly transformative.
