Artwork Description

'Balance 2’ is a piece from the ‘Weight’ series. It is an abstract series exploring one’s internal emotions that emerge from events in my life.
The graphic wood represents a timeline with the direction providing the outcome. The decaying botanical items are used to represent past events that have occurred and are highlighted using coloured gel shards of light. The warmer glow symbolises the visual starting point to either balance, tip or raise through the point of direction.

On a personal level the direct inspiration that created this series was motivated from personal experience in what seemed to be a challenging year for myself and family however the detail and interest in the pieces invite the viewer to explore and interpret their own ideas and story.

Art to be provided as a print only on Canson Rag Photography Paper. The print is provided with a 5 cm border with the image 80cm x 120cm and the full paper size 90cm x 130cm
Printed to order and will leave studio for printing within 3 days, printing turnaround is normally 4 days with the artwork to be sent directly after.

Artist Bio

I am an Australian contemporary art photographer with South Korean Heritage. I use my art to interpret emotions, ideas and events exposed in my life. Botanicals displayed in an activated sculptural way are regular featured within my work to conceptually represent these ideas. Layering of paint, smoke and fire are also regularly showcased.
Formally trained as a commercial photographer with strong knowledge in film and darkroom artistry I approach my work with the technique of modern commercial media.
