As I approached middle age, I embarked on a personal mental journey, reflecting on the natural progression of ageing—its impact on both my physical body and shifting thoughts. This introspective exploration has illuminated the inevitable limitations of life, yet the richness of the lived experience, with all its accumulated knowledge, emotions, and growth.

This series delves into this transitional period, the focal point of my work is the skull, which serves as a symbol of the life cycle. It represents the fragility of mortality, the inevitability of ageing, and the wisdom that accrues through experience.

Artist Bio

I am an Australian contemporary art photographer with South Korean Heritage. I use my art to interpret emotions, ideas and events exposed in my life. Botanicals displayed in an activated sculptural way are regular featured within my work to conceptually represent these ideas. Layering of paint, smoke and fire are also regularly showcased.
Formally trained as a commercial photographer with strong knowledge in film and darkroom artistry I approach my work with the technique of modern commercial media.
